This morning we were laying in bed and I saw the news and I said to my wife, “Lindsey Graham died,” and my wife said, “is that the blonde from Austin Powers?” I love her so much.
Great title! I was surprised that Lindsey Graham died and will be quite a bit more surprised if McConnell is really still alive. "Like a hostage" is very apt. On Platner, I was not surprised at all at the rape accusation.
1) Facebook ads: I'm an oyster farmer, am tired of the billionaires running things, give me some $ for my election. So, ok, whatever gave him $15. Said might do that monthly or what not. ** Gave to her other competitor years ago in a similar fashion - am simply a sucker for giving on this level to Dem Senate candidates from Red/Purplish states for some reason (many never go onto to realize that 43% to 40% poll win they claim to victory)
2) The "smoke" behind the fire arose and you wrote your too prescient column about him and felt you were correct, we have standards as Democrats. Bailed at that point too. Every $15 a month you go to Senate candidates like this one is some percentage lower chance of clean water in some underdeveloped country's village you could be helping fund.
3) The self-righteous part of the party got a bit upset by the less self righteous part of the party over such concerns. The whole stop the working class elitism thing (even though he was a oyster farmer for 2yrs or something and went to Hotchkiss and GW).
4) Some were even short listing him for President -- cause he's (likely testosterone) cut and has a beard and says things like "Wealthy bad, workers good."
5) And...it turns out this moron had so many extra skeletons in the closet (rape!) that it was not worth it and he drops out.
At either rate, hate the term "wings" of the party. It's hard to characterize like that. And, I'm not sure what wing you exactly would fall into either -- but the call out the jerks when they are jerks is not a bad place to defend.
** My other issue is that he kept the ads going and kept asking for $$ when he knew more texts were out there and that skeletons would come out.
